SPRING FUNDRAISER, THE OUTSPOKEN OFFENDER

Since January 2020, I've had the amazing opportunity to educate registrants and their families about incarceration, the sex offense registry, and social issues using the power of video and audio. I've enjoyed every minute of this opportunity.

Since my release from federal prison in 2012, I've dedicated my time to help others that have been affected by the criminal justice system and the sex offense registry. Throughout the past nine years, I've produced five documentary films, local fundraisers, two podcast shows, and now a growing YouTube channel with almost 1,000 followers. Thank you for supporting me through the last year!



SPRING FUNDRAISER

To tell you the truth I dislike fundraisers. I've always been uncomfortable "asking" for money. Being a registrant myself life has its ups and downs. I prefer the ups, but I have limited control over these outcomes due to the registry.

My goal is to continue my passion for helping others struggling because of the registry. The effects it has on the people forced to register and the families involved, such as social stigma and rejection, is where I've focused most of my advocacy work. Did you know that social ostracism hurts mentally as well as physically?

Why are you asking for my support? Where will the funds go?

The spring fundraiser includes financial support for video and audio equipment so I can continue advocacy outreach. Funds will be used for online marketing costs related to YouTube videos, podcast episodes, and website hosting costs. In addition, funds will help pay for travel fees later this year. I plan on filming a peaceful protest at the civil commitment facility in Minnesota. This project will be in conjunction with Woman Against Registry (WAR).


How will donating affect me?

Your donation will go directly to my advocate outreach. Registrants, families, and people affected by the criminal legal system will continue to be able to watch, read, and listen to the content that I produce for YouTube and other mediums.
