Hello friends and family, my name is Alicia. This year, I am spending my spring break in New Orleans volunteering with ServeUP and InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. New Orleans is still facing the effects of Hurricane Katrina and ongoing ecological challenges, leaving many people’s homes and safety at risk. With limited government funding and areas still vulnerable to flooding, the need for help is urgent. Alongside other students from New England, I’ll be helping with construction and restoration projects to support the community.

What inspired me to join this mission was my mentor Rachel, who has helped me grow in my faith and introduced me to this opportunity. I’m excited to create new experiences, meet new people, and give back to a community that truly needs support. The funds I’m raising will cover my travel, food, and housing expenses so I can participate in this service trip and make a real difference.
