Spring Break Eviction

This is such an unfortunate situation. Let me start by saying, we have a good group of kids - really, we do. None of the kids were individually responsible - however, collectively all responsible.

The kids were supposed to be going to a party in Rosemary Beach. Meeting at our house and then going. The other party was canceled so they were left in limbo, deciding what to do/where to go. Large groups of kids were on the boardwalks and in the street around our house. Keep in mind that Rosemary does have an 8 pm (!!) curfew for minors that are not with their parents. I know - seems ridiculous.

At around 10 pm, we were contacted by security and the management company. Several neighbors had called security and asked for our eviction. The neighborhood association also pushing for our removal. We contacted Michael (the owner + Keith's former boss), who was able to get the management company to allow us to stay overnight, leaving by 10 am the next morning. The stay at his house was a gift from him, a huge favor, and a BIG DEAL. Michael has been nothing but kind and EXTREMELY generous to us over the years. He was very instrumental in making sure we were able to get Keith to see specialists all over the world in the early stages of his cancer diagnosis. Without that support, we would not be where we are in his journey. No joke. The relationship is tarnished, to say the least. The whole situation is pretty upsetting all the way around.

Why not just wheels up and go back to Atlanta? Because it's not just the ATL Milko family here - it is the extended Milko family who flew from New York to be here for their Spring Break. It's also the 2 younger brothers' Spring Break. And a re-do Spring Break for Keith because in 2022 he was so sick he was not able to do anything.
In an instant, we were 13 displaced people.

Miracle of Miracles, I found another house that is large enough and available - albeit in Panama City, which is about a 25-minute drive from Rosemary and all the other beaches where most folks are staying. But, now we no longer have a free place to stay. We shelled out $8,800 to be here.

If every kid who was at the house that night chips in $100 or so, it would lessen the sting.
