Itty Bitty Kitty has been busy all spring ramping up TNR (trap, neuter, return) efforts in Bay Ridge to try to stem the tide of kittens being born and suffering on the streets.
Sometimes our work doesn't go according to plan, like in the case of sweet Pascal (pictured), who is a kitty we trapped, thinking it would be a simple TNR. But, Pascal had other plans! Not only was he suffering from a nasty eye and upper respiratory infection, but he let us know he is FRIENDLY and he does NOT want to go back to living on the streets!
Cases like Pascal's aren't uncommon, and in addition to our ongoing TNR efforts (each cat costs between $100 and $180 to trap, spay/neuter, vaccinate, recover, and return) we often come across kitties like Pascal who need extra care. This spikes our vet bills.
In addition, we still have many cats and kittens who we've rescued and who are ready for their forever families! Their ongoing care (think food, litter, toys, and medications if needed) is a huge drain on our resources.
We're in a dire situation--we have over 20 cats and kittens ready for immediate adoption, but adoption applications have ground to nearly a halt! We are drowning, and we need your help!
Donate to our Spring and Summer 2023 General Fund to help us keep our TNR and rescue efforts alive!
