Two years into my journey with cancer, I’ve learned that the battle isn’t just happening inside my body—it’s happening in my bank account and at my workplace.
Right now, I’m navigating my 2nd round of chemo and radiation for lesions on my vertebrae. The fatigue is heavy, and the nausea is real. But like so many others, I don’t have the luxury of taking time off. I “muscle up” and go to work because the bills don’t stop for a diagnosis.
I created Candle of Hope for the 500+ patients who walk through the doors of Stroger Hospital’s Cancer Center every day. Many of us earn “too much” for Medicaid but not enough to cover the staggering costs of life-saving care.
Amy’s Candle of Hope offer comfort and calm for cancer patients, so it’s crucial to choose the raw products wisely.
100% soy, beeswax, coconut wax or gel wax
Pure essential oils (like lavender or citrus for relaxation) to avoid harsh chemicals and strong artificial fragrances, which can trigger nausea or headaches during treatment.
Our candles come in 4oz Candle Jars and Small Wide Mouth Glass Empty Jars with Bamboo Lids
It is important that a natural, unscented, or lightly scented option are specifically labeled; focusing on stress relief and a clean burn for a soothing, gentle experience.
For every candle purchased, $1.00 is donated directly to the Stroger Hospital – Cook County Cancer Center. Supporting this brand means supporting the nurses, doctors, and patients who are fighting this fight right alongside me.
Our Goal - 500 Candles of Hope A Month
Amy's Candle of Hope is also looking for vendor partners - such as wax or scent suppliers - donated supplies will be used to produce at least 500 4 oz candles of Hope a month available for sale for this endeavor to be successful.
Amy's Candle of Hope will focus on online, corporate and organization sale for distribution. We are open to collaborating with other Cancer Organization for fundraising initiatives.
