Spread Joy in Memory of Jason Parkin

Jason Parkin, or as many know him, DB, was a longtime resident of Raleigh, North Carolina. Jason worked for Darius Rucker and Hootie and the Blowfish from young adulthood up until the day of his passing. While Jason was constantly traveling place to place with the band, he never failed to give back to his community.

Every holiday season, Jason donated large sums of turkeys, canned goods, and desserts to the Raleigh Food Bank to give back to others. Jason has always been an extremely generous person, but during the holidays, he took matters into his own hands to make sure everyone had the opportunity to eat a holiday meal. Importantly, Jason wanted to do his part to donate to children in need. Every Christmas season, he would pick angels off the Angel Tree and go overboard buying everything off the list. Needless to say, Jason was an extremely giving and caring person.

While Jason’s sudden and unexpected passing has left us heartbroken, we’ve decided to give back in his honor. We’ve been fortunate to have so many people reaching out, sending condolences, and asking where to donate to our family. We’ve decided to use the donations to spread joy throughout the community as Jason would. We will be donating to the Raleigh Food Bank, the Wake County SPCA, and the Angel Trees at Christmas time. We appreciate you all greatly for your support during this difficult time.
