Spread Issue #2 (fundraising for JaJa Studios)

Spread is a Dublin-based zine that provides a welcoming space for conversations about music, sex and DIY culture. Issue two publishes under the theme of DATA, with contributions from writers, visual artists and poets from across Ireland.

Raising funds for JaJa Studios and the next issue

For this digital issue, we're sharing 50% of donations with JaJa Studios. When editors Yvonne Kiely and Mairead Mullan heard that JaJa Studios were fundraising for a new studio space, having been evicted from their previous home in Stoneybatter, they got in touch to offer the second issue of Spread as a platform to help JaJa reach their GoFundMe target.

You can check out their GoFundMe page here: https://ie.gofundme.com/f/HelpJaJa

The remaining donations will go towards the production cost of Spread issue three.

If 100 people donate €5, that means €250 for JaJa and a sizeable chunk of the production cost of the next issue of Spread is covered. We’re setting our GoFundMe target at €500. But we hope that we will surpass this target and continue donating to JaJa until they move in.

Issue two released: Friday June 26 (THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE DONATED SO FAR!)

Issue two was released on Friday June 26 and is available for download from Lazer Guided Reporter  Later that evening, a discussion took place on Spread’s Facebook page with JaJa Studios in conversation Spread editors and musical performance from Craig Cox.

Issue two is a collection of narratives around the topics of sexuality, gender, technology, music and the cultures that we interact with and create. We are very proud to publish our pieces alongside the beautiful and thought provoking work of Spread's contributors.

The feature interview of issue two is a conversation with an astounding gem of Ireland's underground music scene, Rollers/Sparkers, a Dublin alt-electronic band whose 2016 album was described by The Irish Times as "The best Irish album of the last decade". The trio speak to us about their last record and the possibility of playing together again.
