Hi everyone. Most of you know Walter from Instagram as @waltergoodboy, the spramp-hoppin’, napping and rapping one-of-a-kind French bulldog just trying to make some coin. We are his friends and family, otherwise known as the New York Frenchie Crew (NYFC). This past week has been one of worst ever: we lost our best bud to his struggle with hemangiosarcoma.
Let us tell you Walter’s story.
Walter, the Goodest of all Good Boys, crossed the rainbow bridge on June 8th at the age of 9 young years.
He’d already had a rough year. After the vets removed a large hemangiosarcoma from his chest, he required 5 pricey rounds of chemo at Blue Pearl Veterinary. In March, it was declared he had spramp hopped the sh*t out of cancer and we all celebrated! But sometimes, life is a real motherf***er. After a scary seizure episode on June 5, an MRI at VERG hospital in Brooklyn on June 6 revealed the cancer had come back and spread to his brain and spine. In the early morning hours of Saturday, June 8, we said goodbye to the Goodest of all Good Boys, and our hearts broke into a million pieces.
The tests, medicines, and oxygen tank to find the cause of the seizures and get him stable were expensive and left a huge bill, since the initial cancer treatment exhausted his insurance.
No one should have to stress about bills after the passing of their heart and soul, so on behalf of Walter’s loving pawrents, we are asking if anyone could spare some coin to help with this massive bill his family is now facing.
The total is approximately $6000. We are happy to provide a copy of the final invoice. Any amount leftover after settling the vet bills will be split between Roadogs Rescue and canine cancer research, and we are happy to provide any receipts for donations as well.
The passing of Walter has left his friends and family absolutely heartbroken. We are so grateful for all the love we’ve been shown and totally overwhelmed that so many of you cared for him. From the bottoms of our hearts, thank you. We couldn’t do this without you. ❤️
