Funding for my brother in law’s funeral & family support

Death is one of those inevitable realities that we can never truly accept especially when it comes to people that we love the most. My heart has broken into a million pieces today as I struggle to come to terms with the sudden passing of my wonderful brother-in-law, Medet Akbayrak. He suffered a heart attack and passed away in the hospital. He is survived by his parents, his wife “Ayfer” and their two college going kids. While his kids were with him in the house when he suffered the attack, his wife and parents are in Turkey where they have their ancestral home.

Medet’s parents moved from Turkey to America when he was 9 years old. Coming from a hardworking and honest family I’ve always known Medet to be a genuine and humble man who made a lot of friends given his kind and fun loving attitude. There were countless instances where we as a family saw him stand up for people that he thought were right, no matter what it took. He was a family-oriented person who spent all his life being a loving husband, a dutiful son and a wonderful, supportive father. The fact that he is no longer with us, gracing us with his generosity, love and humility, is something that will never sink in. To add to this, the pain that his wife and parents are undergoing as they weren’t even with him in his last moments is agonizing beyond words. I am here to ask for your support to help us raise funds so we can send Medet’s body to Turkey, where his family is and arrange a funeral for him.

The pandemic had left Medet without a job and Ayfer, his wife had been supporting the family on a single income, paying mortgage, bills, everyday expenses and helping the kids get through college. A part of your donations will also be used to help Ayfer meet these expenses without adding further financial pressure on top of all the emotional trauma she has to deal with due to this sudden unexpected loss of her loving husband.

Thank you for your kindness in donating to this worthy cause for a wonderful person who was taken from us too soon and who would have done the same for anyone, had he still been here. May God bless you!
