Hello, I am grateful for you taking time to read my request for help.
As I exhale, there are so many competing thoughts that are trying to get out of my head as I type... In basic - the premise for this request is to follow through with a task that I believe is destined for me to accomplish. I spent the weekend of July 13th in Charlotte, N.C., at a women's conference -- I went with GREAT EXPECTATION to hear from God; I walked away with a task to "tell my story". I am healed!
May I humbly ask for your help with sponsoring me to participate in a Global Leadership Activism Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa? The dates are September 14th (fly out) through September 22, 2019? I am aware that there are many scammers in this world so I've attached a link (https://whenwomenheal.securechkout.com/2019 ) that offers the 2019 Summit Agenda and below you will find a screenshot of the text message requesting my participation from my friend, Tierra who asked me to serve as a keynote speaker; lead a round table workshop for wives and lead the prayer during the "Midnight Release Hour".
My current resources are not enough to cover this kind of expense on such short notice. The time-sensitive need is to reserve a flight. Would you help me be a part of this great effort, please? Funding will go towards my flight and lodging expenses. In addition, my background is in training so I'd like to develop an interactive workshop for the women to include material that I can leave with them in a study guide format.
The benefit of my participation is that I bring faith for healing and experience!
I am from a divorced, inter-racial home where I witnessed alcohol and physical abuse between my parents almost daily! I was nine-years-old when my father left our family and my mother was rarely home. With very little guidance as a child, I became pregnant at 13, gave birth to my first child at 14 and my second at the age of 18. My mother literally left me (and my daughter) in an abandoned house when I was 15; with no one to turn to. As a result, at 15 I succumbed to the life of cohabitating with my children's father who was four years my senior. The demands of living an adult life (as a child) took its toll and I found myself living a carbon copy of the life my parents lived - emotional turmoil; physically abused and nowhere to go. My teenage years were filled with fear (which later turned into rage); coupled with black eyes; busted lips, severe weight loss, and depression. My coping source was alcohol - yes, I was an alcoholic and it began as a teenager. After fighting with my children's father and looking in the mirror, I would drink myself to sleep to numb my surrounding and avoid the bruises on my body. My mother knew about the abuse, however, she was unable to help.
Please know - my intent is NOT to devalue my mother or my children's father, or to garner sympathy - NO! That was a ten-year period of my life and the hound of horror has been destroyed. From the age of 23 up to this point in my life - (turning 46 on 9/3), I can state - I am healed, delivered and restored, by the blood of Jesus and it is my spiritual obligation to help other women who are trapped in emotional bondage. The past 23 years of God's grace are greater than the 10-years of turmoil that I endured! I have two beautiful daughters who are the greatest blessings from my childhood -- talk about GREAT GRACE!
My task at hand is to "Tell My Story" of recovery and how choosing God Daily helps me to not slip back into a bitter and dark past...
