11th June Sponsored Skydive- on my brother’d birthday!
As many of you know one of my platforms is Child Bereavement UK
I will be doing a sponsored skydive in memory of my little brother Ross with the money raised going to Child Bereavement UK. I need to raise a minimum of £395.
This is something that was at the top of my list when I was thinking about what I wanted to do with my title. ————————————
Child Bereavement UK is a charity very close to my heart. If you’ve been following my journey for a while now you would know my story, for those that are new, here is why I chose to support Child Bereavement UK.
In 2006 our family went through one of the toughest times we would ever face when my younger brother Ross was hit by a car and sadly passed away. As you can see by the photos Ross was such a big character and had such a funny/cheeky personality at such a young age. Only being seven years old this was such a hard time for me as I didn’t know how to deal with this grief.
Child bereavement UK contacted my family within weeks of the accident and offered bereavement support & I cannot thank them enough. Having that support system made a huge difference & I wouldn’t be the person I am today without them & my parents. 1 in 29 5-16 year olds has been bereaved of a parent or sibling - that's a child in every average class Child Bereavement UK helps families to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. They support children and young people when someone important to them has died or is not expected to live, and parents and the wider family when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying.
They provide training to professionals in health and social care, education, and the voluntary and corporate sectors, equipping them to provide the best possible care to bereaved families.
