Sponsored skydive for the Domestic Abuse Hub

Donation protected

Hi, I'm Alex!

I'm a children's Social Worker, A domestic abuse champion & a PhD researcher and I am raising money for the Domestic Abuse hub in Wirral, UK.

Anyone can be a victim of abuse, and the services that support those that are brave enough to speak out are needed now more than ever.

The service I am raising money for is amazing;

Wirral Domestic Abuse Hub is a multi-agency team who offer tailored domestic abuse support to those who need it. We recognise that domestic abuse impacts the whole family and is not a one-size-fits-all approach, we will work with you to ensure you get the right support for you and your family at the right time. We’re here for you, whether it’s the first or twentieth time you’ve asked for support, whether it’s someone to talk to or a specific piece of support. Whilst our support cannot take away the trauma, we hope that through our work we can help you to live the life you want after abuse has occurred.

We work with our partners to make Wirral a place where domestic abuse is not tolerated, to teach our children what healthy relationships look like, to create a brighter, kinder future for the next generation. There is support available across Wirral, for everyone.

The Domestic Abuse Hub is Wirral Borough Council’s domestic abuse support service.

The DA hub consists of a number of different services including:

IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advisor) service - who are a team of specialist professionals who will work with victims of domestic abuse and build a trusting relationship. IDVAs can help a victim with everything they need to become safe and rebuild their life after experiencing abuse.

Early Intervention Team - a multi-disciplinary team consisting of domestic abuse workers, police community support officers, a counsellor, and a reducing parental conflict worker. The team can provide advice and support to families experiencing domestic abuse on a one-to-one basis and through group work support such as The Gateway Programme and The Domestic Abuse Recovery Toolkit. The team can support families to navigate through the criminal justice and family courts process.

Legal Support

We offer 30 minutes free legal advice with our solicitors Morecroft. These appointments are available on Thursday afternoons and can be utilised to seek legal advice around seeking a non mol, child contact issues, financial concerns, separation and divorce proceedings….. these can either be held face to face or over the telephone at an agreed time.

Counselling

We have a qualified counsellor who can offer one to one face to face counselling for anyone effected by Domestic abuse.

Behaviour Change

Caring Dads is our behaviour change programme for male perpetrators of domestic abuse who have contact with children (dads and step-dads). Men must be having some form of contact, or working towards contact, with children in order for the programme to be appropriate for them.

Please sponsor me to assist the DA Hub in continuing to support survivors of abuse in our community.

RAISED FUNDS WILL PROVIDE:

  • Personal panic alarms.
  • Ring doorbell cameras.
  • Dash cameras.
  • Mobile Phones.
  • Pre-paid store cards.

And many other things that will support survivors when they need it the most.

Thank you :)
