Hi, my name is Anne and I am blessed to play and teach music on the Island.

Our chapel celebrated its bi-centenary this year. There was a great group of community helpers who made the chapel and the surrounding area look beautiful for the birthday celebrations. However. there are structural issues, particularly in the sacristy, that need urgent attention.

I have ‘stolen’ the following words from Fr John Joe Duffy. I hope he doesn’t mind! He posted beautifully about how the people of the island have always cared for their church - how it has been the heart of the Island community, comfort in times of sorrow, joy at times of celebration and a safe space for growing in relationships with God and each other.

We have a fantastic musical tradition on the island which we are going to harness to raise some money to start fixing up the chapel to ensure that it stands just as proudly in 200 years time.
