All of us in the SSDUK supporters group are here because we love dogs.

The Trustee’s do their utmost to find loving homes for dogs in Spain that would otherwise just die on the street.

We receive no funding from the Spanish authorities and constantly face increased costs just because we we want to offer stray dogs protection and hopefully, ultimately, a loving home.

In the current climate however we are facing extremely hard times that threaten the very existence of the Charity.

3 years ago we organised a sponsored bike ride across the country from Workington on the West to Tynemouth on the East and this proved to be a great help. Given the current circumstances we have arranged to carry out another ride at the end of April 2026.

9 riders with a support team of 4 others plus 2 vehicles will be riding the 128 mile length of the Leeds - Liverpool canal and every single penny raised will go to helping the dogs. Even the hotel and fuel costs will be covered by the lads themselves!

If you can help us raise as much as possible in any way whatsoever that would be fantastic And if you know anyone who might wish to join us - or arrange an event in your own area that would be a massive help to us also
