102 mile bike ride to help aid Namibian elephants
Donation protected
Hi!
I am raising money for a trip to Namibia, leaving the UK on the 5th of July for two weeks. It is a charity fundraising adventure in aid of two great causes, firstly EHRA (more on that below) and secondly Okongwe School, who my school has been working with for the last 15 years.
We have take on responsibility for fundraising ourselves. The majority of the funds raised go to EHRA and the rest of the money goes towards my flight and a hotel for one night (the other nights we are sleeping under the stars!). We are spending the first week carrying out much needed renovation work on the school, who have recently been devastated by flooding. The second week we are trekking in the Namibian desert.
I am on a Journey to raise £2,700 for this great cause, to help elephants and humans cooperate peacefully and share the same water points in the environment and landscape of Namibia they live in, and to work with children in schools (including Okongwe) to equip them with the knowledge and skills needed to live with desert elephants. You can learn more about EHRA's work here https://www.ehranamibia.org/. They have been badly affected by the Corona Virus resulting in an abrupt stop to all of their funding so the timing of this trip couldn't be more effective.
So, to attempt to raise this money, on the 4th & 5th of April I am doing a 102 mile sponsored cycle from home in North London to Ipswich, in Suffolk! It will be me and two other friends, who are also raising money for the trip, so we can keep each other company!
I have always had a huge passion for wildlife and I am curious about learning more about life outside my cosy north London life - so I would love to be given the opportunity to visit Namibia, support the work of EHRA, see what they do for the animals, and to contribute to the rebuilding of Okongwe, whose students don't have the privileges and experiences we are lucky enough to have at my school. The opportunity to experience the many different life-skills through the charity and the environment I will be challenged to is a privilege in itself!

I would greatly appreciate any donations in the form of sponsorship for the cycle ride - it will be a real tough one to get through! Definitely preparation for the daily treks in Namibia!
