Hello! We are raising funds to help our son, Tristan Humphrey, attend a once-in-a-lifetime educational tour to South Korea & Japan this coming May–June 2026, through EF Educational Tours.

Who is Tristan?

Tristan is a sophomore at Mat-Su Career and Technical High School with a 3.846 GPA. He’s hardworking, curious, and passionate about learning; taking multiple AP courses and participating in multiple sports. Over the years, Tristan has shown interest in exploring the world beyond the classroom and thrives when given opportunities to connect what he learns in school with real-life experiences. This trip could be one of those pivotal growth opportunities that shapes his worldview and future path.

About the Tour

This is a 14-day guided educational tour combining cultural immersion, historical exploration, modern innovation, and interactive learning. Some of the itinerary highlights include:
• Exploring Seoul, touring Gyeongbokgung Palace and Bukchon Hanok Village
• Riding the famous bullet train (Shinkansen) in Japan
• Visiting Kyoto, Nara, and Tokyo, with breathtaking views of Mount Fuji
• Immersing in Ainu culture in Sapporo and visiting national parks
• Participating in a Korean cooking class and a taekwondo lesson
• Experiencing both the traditions and innovations of two vibrant countries

This isn’t just a sightseeing trip — it’s a structured, educational experience designed to build global awareness, empathy, independence, and cultural literacy.

Why This Matters — The Impact on Tristan

With his strong GPA of 3.846, Tristan has already demonstrated his dedication and determination in the classroom. This tour will expand on that same commitment to excellence by giving him:
• Cultural fluency & perspective — seeing firsthand how people live differently across the globe while finding common ground
• Academic enrichment — connecting classroom learning (history, social studies, language, and global issues) with lived experiences
• Personal growth — independence, confidence, and resilience by navigating new places, cultures, and challenges
• Career inspiration — exposure to global innovation and tradition that could help guide his future goals
• Memories & leadership skills — the kind of life-shaping experiences that will stay with him forever

What’s the Cost?

The full student cost for the tour is $8,119 (plus additional small fees for passport, tips, etc.). My goal is to raise [$9,000 or full amount] to cover:
• Airfare & transport
• Hotels & lodging
• Guided tours & cultural activities
• Meals & entry fees
• Passport/visa expenses and tips

How Donations Help

Every dollar brings Tristan closer to this opportunity:
• $25 helps with meals or site entries
• $100 covers museum admissions or cultural experiences
• $500 is a significant portion of lodging or airfare

Even small gifts add up — combined, they can make this dream possible.

How You Can Support
1. Donate — any amount makes a difference.
2. Share — spread the link on social media, email, or with community groups.
3. Sponsor a piece of the journey — for example, a donor could “sponsor his bullet train ride” or “his taekwondo lesson.”
4. Local business support — if you know of a business that invests in youth, we’d love to connect.

Gratitude & Updates

Donors will receive updates before, during, and after the trip. Tristan would love to share photos, stories, and even thank-you postcards. When he returns, he plans to share what he’s learned with family, friends, and his school community.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting Tristan. This isn’t just a trip — it’s an investment in his education, his character, and his future.
