“IT TAKES A VILLAGE”...
My name is Solana and I am the founder of
SOULBRATION CREATIVE STUDIOS, a live music & theatrical production company. This company is black woman-founded & crafted! Soulbration is a dedicated space to creating platforms to uplift & honor BIPOC artists within the greater New York City area. My vision for Soulbration is to hold space where ALL, but specifically black art can thrive without judgment and societal pressures. To place our art in venues/institutions that our ancestors could only dream of.
As the owner, I hold the majority of the financial obligations that come with this company. Unfortunately, as a low-income, single black woman financially I can not sustain them alone. I want to do my best to make sure that all who are involved are compensated for their gifts and time.
We are raising a little extra money to help with PAYING REHEARSAL STUDIO FEES, EXTRA VOCALIST STIPENDS, PHOTOGRAPHER & VIDEOGRAPHER FEES, ETC.... if we meet/ exceed our donation goal, the difference will be split among each of these listed categories. Those who have contributed will be thanked & mentioned in the official show program and website!
DONATIONS MADE PAYABLE TO THE GOFUNDME LINK IN BIO
Our next production coming up next is "His Royal Badness: Celebrating 40 Years of Purple Rain & The Music of Prince"
June 3rd at 54 Below
We are hoping to reach an overall goal of $1000.
Any amount helps! This way we're able to pay all involved what they deserve for their time & talent. I do this for the love and respect of the performing arts and my culture, and I believe that creativity can heal the world.
NOTE: In the future Soulbration plans to apply for creative grants to fund our company.
