As many of you will know, in 2022, we tragically lost Ronan—our beloved son and brother—who was brutally murdered in a case of mistaken identity by underage killers armed with weapons purchased online.

Since that horrific event, we have relentlessly pursued justice for Ronan and worked tirelessly to ensure no other family has to endure the same pain we’ve experienced. Over the past few years, we’ve dedicated ourselves to extensive campaigning efforts aimed at clamping down on the sale and purchase of knives, as well as advocating for policies to reduce knife crime.

From hosting events in Ronan’s memory to participating in government-led working groups, we’ve made meaningful progress. However, there is still much work to be done, and the costs have been significant as more young lives continue to be lost.

Nearly three years have gone by yet the impact of our grief is still very real. We still suffer the unbearable pain of life without Ronan and this pain affects us physically, mentally, and emotionally.

Everyone who supports us in our fight to get justice for Ronan, and especially in achieving Ronan’s Law more recently, gives us the strength we need to keep going. It is with this strength that we will hike up Mam Tor on May 10th to pay tribute to our boy Ronan and all that we have achieved together to tackle knife crime in his name and as part of his legacy.
