My name is Kennedy Campbell and I am Miss Upstate New York 2023 for the Miss America Pageant System. I am reaching out to you in hopes of soliciting your support as a sponsor for me in the Miss America Pageant System.

I am a children’s book author and singer songwriter concluding my senior year at Syracuse University, studying musical theatre and forensic science. I was diagnosed with Selective Mutism, a form of anxiety which prevents some people from speaking outside of their homes, as a teenager. As a result of that diagnosis, I chose to use my voice to help those who suffered from anxiety find their voice through the arts. I started my nonprofit Arts for Anxiety Inc. to champion the link between the arts and its ability to aid those who suffer from anxiety and other mental health disorders. I partner with the Anxiety and Depression Association of America, a national organization, to bring my message across the country. My platform for the Miss America Pageant System is Arts for Anxiety. This system gives me the opportunity to highlight this growing health crisis facing youth today through the work of my foundation and my volunteer work.

In order for me to promote my platform Arts for Anxiety, I need your support. Here are the things that you would be supporting through your donation. More than 40 Million Americans suffer from anxiety. Anxiety takes many forms including the anxiety faced by dealing with the societal issues we face. For several years I have been advocating for social justice issues that cause anxiety in our society through my books and music. My award winning song, “I Am America,” was written after the death of George Floyd to bring unity and healing to a nation that seemed so divided and in pain. My latest book, “Rock That Crown,” is designed to inspire all people, at every age, to embrace any difference, any trait that makes them beautifully unique and whatever that difference is, to Rock It! I have been featured with NBC, CBS and other national media outlets concerning my work for anxiety.
