Hi, my name is Emma, and I’m fundraising for my son Kyle, who has been given a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to join a college conservation research trip to Africa in April 2026. Kyle will also be visiting African communities delivering aid and visiting schools where he will join in with sports activities with the children as part of this experience. 

Kyle is 19 years old and has faced significant challenges throughout his life. He was diagnosed with Autism at age 6, along with speech and communication difficulties. Despite these early hurdles, Kyle has grown into a polite, caring, and determined young man, thanks to his own hard work and the support of his family.

Kyle has always had a deep love for animals and dreams of one day running his own animal sanctuary. He’s currently studying Animal Care and Management at Rodbaston College in a specialist SEN class, and has already completed Level 2 and the first year of his Level 3 course.

Now, he has the incredible chance to take part in a conservation research trip to South Africa through Gap Africa Projects, organised by South Staffordshire College. The trip includes 12 days at two renowned wildlife reserves:

• Nambiti Game Reserve (06/04/26 – 12/04/26)

• Zingela Wildlife Reserve (12/04/26 – 18/04/26)

This experience will be life-changing for Kyle—personally, academically, and professionally. It will give him hands-on experience with wildlife conservation, something he’s deeply passionate about, and help him take a huge step toward his dream career.
