Sponsor Josh's Cultural Exchange Program

Before I say anything, thank you for taking the time to even read this. I recently got accepted into the Indiana University Honors Program of Foreign Language for the summer of 2025 which offers a month-long foreign exchange program in France. This program will provide me with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to immerse myself and connect with people in a culture that I’m not familiar with. I will spend most of my time taking language courses and volunteering to benefit a local leisure organization for kids. This change of environment will mentally challenge me as I will only be allowed to speak French on this trip. I will not be used to the food, transportation, or the people I’ll spend most of my time with. These challenges will make me an even more resilient individual than I am today and push me outside of my comfort zone. This experience will also prepare me for the changes I will face as I transition to college.

You must be wondering what all this is about. This program is fantastic, but there is one issue on my end. The cost of participation is exorbitant for a student in my family’s financial situation. In case you are curious, the cost of the program was initially $7,690 but it's now reduced to $1,690 thanks to the money I was able to save from working over the summer and the help I received from the program and relatives. Unfortunately, even though those efforts were significant, there's still a remaining cost, and now I'm closer than ever to participating in this program and I wouldn't want to miss this huge opportunity. With how desperate I am at the moment and the deadlines quickly approaching I came to ask you for some help.
