My name is Caroline Graham Im Daniels Mam. Daniel is 16 years old and an amazing young man. At 22 days old Daniel was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis which resulted in an Acquired Brain Injury, Epelipsy, Cognitive Social Impairment, Sensory Processing Disorder, Autism and a learning disability. We have had many a difficult day but we always came out fighting and smiling on the other side. The best thing we did for Daniel ages 8 was start him in Equine Therapy in ChildVision Drumcondra and thats were our journey started. The horses helped Daniel find his voice and communicate with people outside of the family circle. Equine Therapy also helped regulate Daniel and improved his sleep on days we had therapy. The horse doesn't care if you make eye contact or scream or shout on their back. The horse thought Daniel responsibility and how to care and handle an animal.

Daniel joined Donabate Portrane Special Olympics over a year ago. In May 2025 Daniel took part in Special Olympics Regional Competition and claimed gold medal to secure his place in Special Olympics Ireland Games 2026. We are extremely proud of Daniels achievement.
