Support the Uganda Kids’ Education

Hi, I'm Magnus, I'm 9 years old, and I hope you will join me in being an education sponsor to reduce poverty.
I am lucky to know that education is something I can always access, but this isn't true for everyone, and that's not OK with me.
My goal is to help 41 students in Uganda stay in school for the 2026 school year (it starts in January), and I need your help.
When I was 7, my mum (Davina) showed me a picture of a school that took the entire day off to celebrate the school's first ball. She got the picture from her friend, Peter, from the Global Compassion Coalition, where they both volunteered. I couldn't believe it because I had so many balls, just in my own home!
Then she told me it costs about $100 USD a year for a kid to go to school there and some of them have families that can't afford it, so they can't get a basic education. It didn't make any sense to me and it still doesn't.
She told me that we couldn't help all on our own, but I was sure others would help if they knew. That's how it all started and I've learned a lot about Uganda and poverty since these last 2 years.
I know this is all bigger than just getting through the school year, but this is a start that I can help with and I don't want to let any kids down. Through the year I sell old toys and books and return bottles and cans. We send the money directly to Peter, who makes sure it pays for school fees—nothing else. That’s important, because we’ve learned that in Uganda, money sent to schools doesn't always go where it's supposed to.
The kids still have to do the work and show they want to be there, and ALL of the kids from the last 2 years have passed their exams and shown they still really want to learn and we want to help them do this. We are so proud of them!
We’re all connected. Just because these kids live far away, it doesn’t mean we can ignore their needs. This year, we want to keep all 41 students in school through 2026. My bigger goal is to make sure they all finish secondary school if they choose. If we raise extra, we’ll start saving for next year—especially for the girls. The girls are especially important to us because they are the first to be taken out of school to be married if families can’t afford their education. That feels sad to us, but the truth is, money can be a reason that lets them down from getting a full education.
I know this is bigger than just one school year. But helping now is a start. These kids don’t even have enough paper to write on, while I get to tell this story online.
Will you join us? Help make sure no one is left out and they can finish this year without the worry of what happens in 2026, because they know they'll be in school!
LAST 2 YEARS SUCCESS
The first year they were so happy that they even offered me a special fruit party if I ever get to Uganda and wrote about the Christmas miracle in their newspaper. It was pretty awesome!
Last year, we raised enough money and kept them all in school. They are learning and passing their year and exams. Our fundraising also helped their government do more to help, and they are learning that people around the world cared about them and believe in their education. They believe they have a future.
