Academic Year 2026 Education Support Initiative for Vulnerable Children in Uganda
(Orphans, Children with Disabilities, and Abandoned Children)
Background & Purpose
Education remains one of the most effective tools for breaking cycles of vulnerability. As we prepare for the 2026 academic year, we are launching a renewed education support initiative aimed at orphans, children with disabilities (PWDs), and abandoned children across Uganda.
Despite progress made in previous years, many vulnerable children continue to face serious barriers to education particularly school fees, learning materials, and access to regular meals. Early preparation before school reopening is essential to ensure children are not excluded or delayed at the start of the academic year.
This initiative focuses on continuity, stability, and dignity in learning, ensuring children can attend school consistently and focus on their studies.
Areas of Support for 2026
The 2026 initiative takes a holistic approach, recognizing that education goes beyond the classroom. Support will include:
• Payment of school fees to secure and retain school placement
• Provision of essential scholastic materials
• School feeding support to improve attendance and concentration
• Moral and character development through Islamic teachings
• Targeted assistance for children with disabilities
• Psychosocial and emotional support for vulnerable learners
Progress & Ongoing Need
We sincerely appreciate all donors and well-wishers who have supported education initiatives in past years. Their generosity has enabled hundreds of vulnerable children to remain in school and continue learning.
However, the need remains ongoing. Many children depend entirely on donor support for school fees, meals, and basic learning requirements, and their needs evolve as they progress to higher classes and more demanding academic levels. The 2026 initiative seeks to sustain and strengthen this support so children are not forced to drop out due to financial hardship.
Why Your Support Is Essential
Your contribution will help to:
1. Ensure uninterrupted access to education for orphans, PWDs, and abandoned children by addressing school fees and essential requirements.
2. Promote moral and ethical development through Islamic teachings that nurture integrity, compassion, justice, and responsibility.
3. Support inclusive education by addressing disability-related barriers and accessibility needs.
4. Provide psychosocial care and mentorship, helping children overcome trauma and remain engaged in learning.
5. Strengthen community awareness on the importance of educating vulnerable children and reducing stigma.
Implementation Approach
To deliver meaningful and accountable support, the initiative will:
• Conduct updated needs assessments for enrolled children
• Collaborate with schools and training institutions to coordinate fee support and academic requirements
• Procure and distribute scholastic materials and assistive resources
• Offer counseling, mentorship, and peer-support programs
• Provide guidance and skills development opportunities for older learners
Priority Needs for the 2026 Academic Year
Support is urgently required for the following:
1. School fees
2. Exercise books, pens, pencils, mathematical sets, and rulers
3. School uniforms
4. Sanitary pads for school-going girls
5. Food and school feeding support
6. Qurans and Yasarena learning materials
Humble Appeal
With your continued support, we can help vulnerable children remain in school, learn with dignity, and build a more secure future. Education is not a one-time intervention it is a journey that requires consistency, compassion, and collective responsibility.
Together, we can sustain learning, protect opportunity, and shape brighter futures in 2026 and beyond.
