I fit ski boots for almost 10 years at a speciality ski shop in Colorado and I kept hearing the same complaints from customers over and over. They were, why are ski boots so hard to get on and off and why are ski boots so uncomfortable. I decided that since current manufacturers are not really addressing these issues, I would design a new ski boot that would solve these problems and offer more to the customers then existing boots. I first created the memory foam liner, that can mold to the foot every time it is put on. I wanted to make the boots more comfortable, but it could not work well with existing shells, since the memory foam never really settled right, after slide the foot down into the shell/liner. That is when the split shell came about, allowing for the user to put the liner on first, which allowed the memory foam to settle nicely around the foot. Once the liner is tightened up, the user slides the liner into the split shell, closing the two halves, allowing the memory foam to compress, giving a really tight but super comfortable fit. Having the liner come out of the shell allows the user to walk and drive in the liner, which will be waterproof and have a sole. This ski boot system will allow consumers to have a ski boot that will provide them with all the comfort they want without sacrificing performance. I am seeking funding to get next generation prototypes developed, since i only have a few made from old boots. I want to have more professional looking prototypes to solicit investors for bring these to full production of this patented ski boot system. The capital investment for full production, using molding cast, will be significant (Million plus) so these prototypes will prove the concept further by allowing potential investors the opportunity to try them before investing.
