This sweet girl has been through so much over the last year and a half.
Luna and I came together after an older dog in the home started attacking her after a year of living together. The family was heartbroken and I for them but finding her a new home was the kindest decision. She was so nervous that first day but the first night after one pat she jumped into bed with me and it’s been true love ever since. Our first couple years were lots of adventures (she loves to hike and explore) and working on her training and some reactive tendencies likely from the early attacks. We settled into a routine and Luna mas making lots of new human and animal friends.
About two years ago we starting having some issues, starting with rapid shedding and some stomach issues, then welts and sores on her legs and hips.
We started with allergy testing, changing diets, she had a few rounds of meds for ear infections, we had a decent 3-4 months with little issues and then the stomach upset became worse and so did the sores. At the end of last year I had to take her to the emergency vet for an overnight stay after she was vomiting blood. Continued care and testing and she has some scar tissue in her esophagus and intestines. The next recommend step is a balloon dilation to break down some of the scar tissue. Over the past year I’ve spent around $15000 on her care and this procedure will likely cost between $3800 and $5000, maybe more depending on how she reacts to the placement and if she needs additional care.
I’ve exhausted my resources but really want to give this sweet girl the best chance of things.
We will take all the love, prayers and good energy and if you are able please consider a donation.
Any money raised will go towards this procedure and her care. If there is extra maybe paying down some of her medical debt costs to help with any future care she needs.
Thanks and hugs, sniffs and licks from Luna and I.
