Vicki's battle with ovarian cancer

After a seven-month struggle with cancer, Vicki is now, just as she was in life, in the hands of her Heavenly Father. Surrounded by her loving family, she left this world on July 31, 2016. 

Vicki married the love of her life, David Sylvester, on October 24, 1981. Together they had two children, Jeremy Sylvester and Hannah Sylvester Vasil. She was a loving wife, mother, and daughter.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 35 years, her children, and her parents, Conrad and Marie Newell,  of Wilmington, NC as well as her brother, Gary Newell. In addition to her immediate family, Vicki leaves behind her sisters by marriage, Linda Sylvester Seal, June Sylvester Saraceno, and Julia Sylvester Summo. She is mourned by many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

During her illness, her devoted husband left work to care for her full time. The resulting expenses from medical care and associated costs remain daunting. This 
memorial fund is to help alleviate those expenses.
