Dear Friends, Family, and Supporters,
We’re coming together to support two of the most wonderful people we know: Frank Spitznagel and Michele Foor — the way Frank taught us, by making musical improv! Frank is currently undergoing cancer treatment, and we want to show him and Michele just how much love and support they have from all of us.
We're hosting a musical improv showcase, the Spitznagel Spectacular, but this fundraiser is about more than just the show. It’s about showing Frank and Michele that they are surrounded by a community that cares deeply for them. Whether you're attending the event in-person, watching the live-stream, donating, or sharing this campaign, we are grateful for your support!
The Spitznagel Spectacular on Saturday, May 31 from 6 - 11 pm at the Wild East Brewing Co. in Brooklyn will be a night of never-before-seen musicals, lots of laughs, and lasting memories, featuring an incredible lineup of musical improv teams and performers. But beyond the fun and laughter, this event is about coming together as a community to lift up Frank and Michele during this challenging time. A donation of $15 is suggested for all event attendees.
How You Can Help:
If you plan to attend the event in-person, please let us know by signing up here.
The event will also be available via livestream here.
We are relying on your generous donations to make a real difference for Frank and Michele. All funds raised through this GoFundMe page will go directly to Frank and Michele to use as they see fit while they focus on healing and recovery. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a difference!
We are incredibly grateful for your support, whether it's through a donation, sharing this page with your network, or joining us for the event. Let’s rally together and show Frank and Michele just how much they mean to us!

Our Connection to Frank and Michele
We — Catherine Stahl, Anson Chan, Matt Hoffman, Michelle Chu, and Annie Raczko — all know Frank and Michele from the Magnet Theater. Frank is the Musical Director at Magnet Theater and an incredible piano accompanist. We’ve had the privilege of learning Musical Improv in classes he co-taught. Michele is also a performer at the Magnet Theater and previously worked as a house manager there. We know her both onstage and behind the scenes, and we’re honored to call both Frank and Michele friends.
How Funds Will Be Managed and Used
Michael Perreca — a close friend of Frank and Michele who has known them for decades — will manage the funds raised. Donations will be deposited into Michael’s account, and he will use them to directly pay for any medical or support needs as requested by Michele and Frank.
We want these funds to be available for anything and everything that will be supportive for them. While we’ll remain flexible based on their needs, the funds may cover expenses such as food, Lyft/Uber rides, medical bills, or other essential costs.
Michael will be listed as the official beneficiary for bank transfers on this GoFundMe page, but all funds are ultimately for the benefit of Frank and Michele.
