Support New Queer Theatre Piece "Spit In My Face"

Hello and bonjour!

I’m Matthias Moret, a French actor and theatre-maker based in London, UK.

I created and perform in a solo theatre show called Spit In My Face, a queer play about open and polyamorous relationships.

“I want to lie in the mud with you, him, and all of them.”

In Spit In My Face, Pierre questions monogamy while navigating his complex modern relationship with Adam. Through sex, romance, excitement, frustration, and sorrow - theory and practicality go head to head.

Sexy and sensual, sensitive and sentimental, Spit In My Face explores sex, consent, gender and the quarrel between social conventions… and moral revolution.

I want to take this project further, to help it reach wider audiences and communities. I want to be able to tell this queer story in its fullest form, and deliver an excellent product to anyone attending the show. To do so, I need your help.

To cover the expenses of this initiative, the project needs £3000, which would go towards paying the creative team, hiring venues, meeting all design costs, as well as marketing.

This play deals with modern issues faced by the queer community. It’s a way to share a story that is often not told in the mainstream.

Think of it as a way not just to help me but to support queer art, the performing arts, and the LBTQIA+ community.

Je suis Matthias Moret, acteur, auteur et metteur en scène, basé en Angleterre.

J’ai créé et joue dans un spectacle appelé Spit In My Face, une pièce de théâtre queer traitant des relations ouvertes et polyamoureuses.

Dans Spit In My Face, Pierre est en couple libre et polyamoureux avec Adam et défend le rejet de la monogamie. Entre sexe, sentiments, excitations, frustrations et peines, la théorie a parfois du mal à coller à la réalité.

Sexy et sensuel, sensible et sentimental, Spit In My Face explore des thèmes comme la sexualité, le consentement, le genre, ainsi que la lutte entre les conventions sociales et la révolution de mœurs.

Je veux porter ce projet plus loin et toucher un public plus large et divers. Je veux donner à cette histoire les moyens d’être racontée comme il se doit, et livrer le meilleur produit possible aux spectateurs. Pour cela, j’ai besoin de votre aide.

Pour couvrir les dépenses d’une telle initiative, j’ai besoin de £3000 (environ 3500€), qui aideraient à payer l’équipe créative, les théâtres, le décor, ainsi que le marketing.

Cette pièce soulève des questions ancrées dans notre temps qui concernent largement la communauté queer. Votre contribution permettrait de raconter une histoire qui a, pour le moment, peu de visibilité dans le mainstream.
