Spirit of the Wild Horse destroyed by explosion!

Spirit of the Wild Horse Foundation is located in Southern Colorado and protects 150 wild mustangs on Wild Horse Mesa.

We have been taking care of the Mustangs for 19 years. Supplying water year round and food in the winter.

On April 14 at 2:30 am the house and truck exploded. Amerigas is doing an investigation. The fire dept, Ameri-gas and Energy Resource Center have been called many times. I had two trips to the hospital for oxygen after carbon monoxide gas filled the house. The house and truck are nothing but ash.

We lost 50 bags of alfalfa cubes, a 1500-gallon cistern for water storage and 3 - three hundred gallon water tanks melted, 4 water hoses are gone. The last 2 of the 1800-pound bales of hay also got destroyed.

No horses were injured. They were up in the trees for the night.
