Where do I begin?? Someone asked me if they thought this would be a good idea for the Spires Family. We sat and talked about all of the trials they have been facing. Let us share with you a little about the trials:
Many of you know about McTeer's PANDAS diagnosis, Hannah has shared a good bit about their journey on social media. This is a marathon and not a sprint. McTeer is improving, yet some days it is one step forward and two steps back.
Another trial they are weathering is mold. A lot of mold. Long story short, their entire second floor was taken down to the studs. This includes throwing out mattresses, furniture, etc. Almost everything on the second floor had to go. This long drawn out ordeal has been a battle with insurance companies with little to no financial reimbursement.
The next storm has hit. Our beloved Whitman, kid #2, had an emergency appendectomy a few weeks ago. Since his surgery and stay at hospital #1, he's endured continued pain and hasn't healed as he should. That brought a stay at hospital #2. The doctors referred them to MUSC, and you guessed it, that is hospital #3! What was thought to be an abscess turned out to be a blood clot(in tissue, not organ). As of right now, I am feeling like we have another marathon on our hands. Each time Chris and Hannah talk with the doctors, there seem to be more questions than answers. I will say this, they are so thankful for doctors and staff at MUSC. They do feel like they are in good hands and that no stone is being left unturned.
Our church family and so many others have asked how they could help, so we decided to start this page. Funds collected here will go straight to the Spires family. Donations will go towards medical bills, completion of the renovations, and any daily needs they may have.
