In my second year of retirement I was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer, it’s BPDCN blastic plasmacytoid dendritic cell neoplasm leukemia. I’ve had 11 treatments with a new drug that is $24,000. a treatment. There are only 5 hospitals in the country that handle this new drug and Ohio State University’s Wexner Medical Center is one of them once I’m in remission I’ll need a bone marrow transplant,so I’m away from home and will be staying in a hotel for 3 months as an outpatient once I’m able to leave the hospital.
