Ben's Peloton Army is raising funds for the benefit of one of our most dedicated and inspiring riders. His name is Spencer Trevarthen but we have come to know him by his leaderboard name, #leashlover. Spencer is a high functioning special needs adult living at the Glennwood Housing facility in Laguna Beach, CA.
During the recent shelter in place order in the State of California, Spencer returned home for 2 months to live with his family where he had access to a Peloton Bike. In just 2 months, #leashlover completed over 30 rides with Ben Alldis, his favorite instructor! Spencer's smile and dedication to riding with Ben's Army has truly inspired the Peloton community.
Spencer has now returned to his apartment at Glennwood where he no longer has access to a bike. In fact, Glennwood's gym could use an upgrade! The gesture of obtaining a Peloton bike for Spencer and his fellow residents would be akin to “adopting” a wonderful community of Independent Adults who want to be just like everyone else. Several of Glennwood's residents compete in Special Olympics so the addition of Peloton Bike would be a great enhancement to their training.
The goal is to raise funds to purchase a Peloton Bike, gym accessories and fund a year of membership dues. If we surpass the goal, the additional funds will provide even more upgrades for Glennwood's gym.
