Spine Surgery For Wesley
We have a family pet named Wesley, He is a beautiful 8 year old American Bulldog. He likes to pretend he's big and scary but really all he ever wants is your treats and cuddles. He was rescued from the shelter when he was just 7 months old. Just a couple days ago he started not wanting to put weight on his right front paw. We kept an eye on it, called the vet and they gave us a prescription for him. He seemed to get a little better and then he stopped getting up, every time we'd pick him up to take him outside he'd hobble and then fall down. He's a strong boy, never yelped or got aggressive. Just looked unsure of what was happening to him. By the end of day two he had zero control it seemed of his right front and right rear legs. So at 9 p.m Saturday 4/27/19 we took him to the emergency vet. The ran their test on him to find they believe he had a disc issue in his spine or a clot inside his spine but he'd have to be transferred to the U of W in Madison. So they stretchered him out to the car because by this time he couldn't use either back leg.
We drove straight there and they ran their neurological exam and agreed with the ER vet and recommend him stay and let them run a Ct scan and Mri, they stated that if his deep pain worsens before treatment that he'd be paralyzed and surgery wouldn't likely change that. Right now his deep pain they feel hasn't reached that point. So we left him with them in their care.
We have already paid the ER vet, we drove at midnight to Madison and gave them a deposit for him , emotional and exhausted we got home at
6:00 am this morning 4/28/19 . The surgical consult came in at 7:00 this morning to run their test on him . They advised us with the Ct, MRI, and the surgery that we will be 7 to 8000 dollars not including medications and any physical therapy he'd need afterwards. We know this is a lot of money, we know that times are hard for everyone. But we also know
how much he is cared about by our entire family and 2 young girls. He
has a many good years ahead of him and we want to give them to him. Any little bit you could donate, share the link, help us bring him
home healthy.
The funds will strictly be used for his medical expenses , no matter the
amount that gets raised, our whole family can't thank you enough for
donating and or sharing this page. We will update the page as we get
the updates.
