UPDATE: No longer accepting donations from the gofundme page as donations take too long to process through - if you would like to still donate, please message either me or my sister for bank transfer details.
The surgery has been performed but Suleimans recovery will take 6months or more. Thank you for all of your help and support.
We have gathered as many donations as we could. We will be sending what we have gathered to Suleiman’s family.
Hi, I am Suleiman Hussein’s cousin living in the United Kingdom and I am raising funds on behalf of Suleiman Hussein, age 20, in Bangladesh.
We are asking friends, community members, and kind supporters to help however they can. Please consider donating £30, £50, £100 or more to help relieve this burden and support Suleiman’s recovery.
On April 16th, Suleiman was working a late shift loading heavy sacks of rice onto a boat when Suleiman slipped and fell and a sack of rice fell on top of him, causing a devastating spinal injury. The impact was so severe that his spine was badly fractured, and he was left in excruciating pain. Suleiman Hussein is a very slim young man which is how his spine was badly fractured.
Suleiman has now undergone emergency surgery. We are currently waiting for him to wake up and praying for a safe recovery.
To secure the operation, his family had to make desperate public appeals for help and gather emergency funds under heartbreaking circumstances so the surgery could go ahead in time.
Although the surgery has taken place, the family is still facing approximately 6 lakh BDT in remaining medical debt and related costs.
This has been a devastating ordeal for a hardworking young man and his family. Suleiman now faces a long recovery, while his loved ones struggle with overwhelming financial pressure after doing everything possible to save him.
If you are unable to donate at this time, please share this fundraiser with others who may be able to help.
I will continue to post updates as we receive them.
Thank you sincerely for your generous support for Suleiman Hussein and his family.
May Allah reward you for helping alleviate the pain of another person. Ameen.
