Beth’s Spinal Injury Recovery
Donation protected
I suffer from a condition known as “Disassociative Identity Disorder” which affects me everyday - in September of this year I had a fall that unfortunately went untreated and ignored by doctors, who believed my pain was either psychological (due to my mental health issues) or not as severe as I claimed - that is until it resulted in severe nerve impingement which caused loss of feeling in most of my left leg, debilitating lower back pain, incontinence and ultimately led to needing emergency spinal surgery to remove broken pieces of a herniated disc.
In my spare time, I have been running a small business making jewelry and accessories as a means to aid me in a bit of financial independence, as my disability coverage is minimal, and I’ve had to pay out of pocket for things like physiotherapy, transportation to appointments and mounting bills that have accumulated.
Though the very small amount I had been making through local markets or Etsy has now gone from but a trickle to almost nothing.
With the Canada Post strike I’ve not been able to keep up with higher delivery fees, and now with my spinal injury and severe lack of funds I’ve not been able to attend or afford to participate in any markets either.
I am hoping that with help and the kindess of others through gofundme - I can get ahead of a few of my mounting bills, get some basic physiotherapy to help me heal and get back to a place where I can make positive progress, both physically and mentally.
Anything you can spare would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
