Spinal Injuries Scotland & Joanna

Donation protected
On the 28th of October members of my family were involved in a devastating car accident in Aberdeenshire resulting in my amazing cousin, Joanna, losing the ability to walk. Despite this life changing accident, Joanna refuses to let it bring her down. Her strength and positivity hasn't failed her once despite being thrown with two operations, doses upon doses of injections and medication, physio and psychological therapy and being told the chances that she will walk again are marginal at the age of 21.

Going into the New Year it has come apparent that Jo's muscles in her legs are deteriorating very quickly. This means she is much more susceptible to breakages. However, with the use of a piece of machinery called the muscle Stimulette, her muscle mass will be maintained and as a result reduce the risk of breaking so easily. However, this piece of machinery is not funded by the NHS and costs a total of £5,000.

Jo is undoubtedly one of the closest family members I have and I want to do the upmost to help her. Her selflessness and determination has motivated me to help raise funds for the Stimulette. I will therefore be running not one but two 10km's on the 22nd and 29th of March to help Jo get that little bit closer to getting this machinery. With your donations, Jo's life outside of the hospital will be made that little bit easier.

Jo also wants the donations raised to be split as a thank you to Spinal Injuries Scotland for all their help and support during her healing process. Spinal Injuries Scotland is a voluntary organisation to help people like Jo adapt to life during and after hospitalisation.

I have set the bracket for £500 but ideally want to go above and beyond to help the organisation and my wonderful cousin.
