I never thought I’d have to do this, but I’m asking for help to raise money for my spinal damage and to help straighten my spine due to scoliosis.

I’m only 17 years old and I’ve been struggling with this condition since I was around 14–15. Over time it has become harder and harder to manage. Some days I struggle to walk, stand for long periods, or even do simple everyday things like drying my hair because of the pain and pressure on my spine.

I work in beauty doing lashes and treatments, and it’s something I truly love. I left school at 13 and don’t have GCSEs, so building my own business has meant everything to me. But my condition is now massively affecting my ability to work, and I’m scared that if I don’t get the help I need, I may not be able to continue doing the job I love.

I need ongoing physiotherapy and specialist spinal care. Unfortunately, the NHS waiting times have been extremely long, and I feel like I’m not getting the support I urgently need. I currently see a private physio, but the costs are becoming overwhelming, alongside needing specialist equipment like a proper lash chair that supports my back and spine.

I also need to see a spinal specialist in Birmingham, but getting appointments can take a very long time. Because of how quickly my condition is affecting my mobility and quality of life, I’ve decided to ask for help before things get worse. But if I pay I will be able to be seen asap.

At 17 years old, I should be looking forward to my future, not worrying about ending up in a wheelchair if treatment is delayed. I still have my whole life ahead of me, and I just want the chance to live without constant pain and continue building the career I love.
