Meine Mama gegen den Krebs: Ich bitte um Hilfe!

Liebe Leserinnen und Leser,

im Oktober letzten Jahres traf uns die schreckliche Nachricht: meine Mama Petra bekam die Diagnose Bauchspeicheldrüsenkrebs.

Unser aller Leben wurde vom einen auf den anderen Tag komplett auf den Kopf gestellt. Schnell stellten die Ärzte fest, dass der Tumor inoperabel ist und sie daher als einzige Option eine Chemotherapie in Betracht ziehen.

Einige Wochen und viele Ärztebesuche später fing im Dezember die Chemotherapie an. Sowohl ihr mentaler als auch ihr körperlicher Zustand leiden von Durchgang zu Durchgang mehr und die Nebenwirkungen werden von Mal zu Mal heftiger.

Meine Mutter ist eine unglaubliche, starke und tapfere Frau. Doch dann kam Anfang März die nächste niederschmetternde Nachricht: die Krankenkasse stellt die Krankengeldzahlung ein! Grund dafür: Der Krebs ist aus ärztlicher Sicht nicht heilbar und nur noch durch eine palliative Chemotherapie hinauszuzögern. Sie stellen deshalb die Zahlung ein und drängen meine Mama zur Beantragung der Erwerbsminderungsrente, welche etwa 50% geringer ist als das Krankengeld.

Als wäre Mamas Krebserkrankung nicht schon schlimm genug, kommt jetzt auch noch die finanzielle Belastung hinzu, denn von der Erwerbsminderungsrente allein wird sie kaum leben können.

Es kann zu Situationen im Leben kommen, über die man keine Kontrolle hat und bei denen man plötzlich aus dem Alltag gerissen wird. Gerade in diesen schweren Zeiten des Lebens sollte es an erster Stelle stehen, mental stark und positiv zu bleiben und sich voll und ganz auf die Genesung zu konzentrieren. Leider wird meiner Mama genau das gerade durch die Krankenkasse extrem erschwert.

Wir haben einiges probiert, dem Vorhaben der Krankenkasse entgegenzuwirken. Leider erfolglos.

Wir besitzen leider nicht die finanziellen Mittel, sie dauerhaft so zu unterstützen, dass sie sich um ihre finanzielle Situation keine Gedanken mehr machen muss. Daher bitte ich hier um finanzielle Hilfe für meine Mama.

in October of last year, the terrible news hit us: my mom Petra was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer.

All of our lives were turned completely upside down from one day to the next. The doctors quickly determined that the tumor was inoperable, so the only option they were considering was chemotherapy.

A few weeks and many doctor visits later, chemotherapy began in December. Both her mental and physical state suffer more and more with each passing round, and the side effects become more severe each time.

My mother is an incredible, strong and brave woman. But then, at the beginning of March, came the next devastating news: the health insurance company stopped paying sickness benefits! The reason: from a medical point of view, the cancer is not curable and can only be delayed by palliative chemotherapy. They therefore stop the payment and urge my mom to apply for the reduced earning capacity pension, which is about 50% less than the sick pay.

As if Mom's cancer wasn't bad enough, now there is the added financial burden, because she will barely be able to live on the reduced earning capacity pension alone.

Situations can arise in life over which one has no control and in which one is suddenly torn from everyday life. Especially during these difficult times in life, staying mentally strong and positive and fully focused on recovery should be top of mind. Unfortunately, this is exactly what the health insurance company is making extremely difficult for my mother.

We have tried a lot to counteract the health insurance company's plan. Unfortunately without success.

Unfortunately, we do not have the financial means to support her permanently so that she no longer has to worry about her financial situation. Therefore, I ask here for financial help for my mom.
