Spencer Fry was in a serious accident while racing his motorcycle at NGPC Round #8 at Havasu Island MX Park in Lake Havasu, AZ on December 13th, 2020.
I'll spare some details but the following is a brief explanation of what happened:
A crash on a jump across a body of water resulted in Spencer being on the ground on the landing side, which is where another motorcycle landed with full force across his legs/lower body.
The injuries that resulted were; compound breaks of both femurs, broken and dislocated ankle, cracked pelvis.
Emergency staff on site was quick to tend to him and he was loaded into an ambulance to be taken to the ER in Havasu. He was then flown to a hospital in Las Vegas for surgery, where rods were put in both femurs. An ankle surgery within a few weeks is also likely needed.
If you know Spencer, you know he is one of the most selfless and hardest working guys around. Minutes before the race he was helping me work on my bike. He is constantly fixing his friends' dirt bikes, boats and cars and he never asks for anything in return.
Spencer is a technician at Tuttle-Click Ford, and by all accounts one of most in demand techs, especially for Ford trucks. Seriously, a good portion of the Ford trucks in South OC are on the road because of him.
This fundraiser is to try to alleviate some of the extensive medical bills as well as hopefully give Spencer a little morale boost so that he doesn't have to stress missing work and focus on PT and recovery.
Spencer would never ask for this and by contributing we are not saying he needs it. He's the last person to be a victim. This is just a gift for a friend who had a really unfortunate incident that could have happened to any of us that ride/race.
If you know Spencer, or don't know him but were at the race and maybe saw what happened, please feel free to contribute.
