Spencer Miles Conlin died suddenly at the age of 27, after years of severe pain. All who knew him are devastated at the loss of this sweet, kind young man. His parents, Michael Conlin and Karen Conlin, need assistance in paying for the unexpected final expenses.
It is deeply distressing to announce that Spencer Miles Conlin suddenly
passed away on Thursday, December 12 at the age of 27. This unexpected loss is devastating to his loving parents, Michael Conlin and Karen Conlin, and to their families, friends, and coworkers. The family needs our financial support to cover the costs abruptly thrown upon them from this premature death including cremation and memorial service.
Karen and Michael encouraged Spencer from his childhood to be interested in the wonders of nature and of mankind, through travel and reading. He was a student of Greek classical literature – Homer, Plato,
Plotinus, and Epictetus, whose Enchiridion taught him self-control and
acceptance. His favorite book was Dante's Divine Comedy.
Beginning in his junior year of high school, Spencer suffered from
unbearable pain. He was legally disabled for the last nine years. Despite
the pain, Spencer never complained, saying "good makes no noise and noise makes no good." He was always kind and helpful to others and touched many lives for the better.
He loved cooking, and mastered the art of sushi. This year he put together an amazing "Anthony Bourdain Thanksgiving" for family and friends.
Just one week before he passed, Spencer joined his father's coworkers from the Theosophical Society in a holiday party, and had a great time. All loved having him there. His sudden death came as a huge blow to those who knew him, and he will be missed. Please help his family to put him to rest. Plans are not yet announced for the memorial service, but in the spring a tree will be planted in his honor on the grounds of the Theosophical Society in Wheaton.
