On Sunday May 3 around 3 am, the Spence family lost everything due to a fire in the family home. They barely made it out alive and unfortunately lost the family dog Jade in the fire. Melaina the oldest daughter woke up to Jade barking and loud noises. When she opened her bedroom door she heard the fire alarms go off and she immediately called her Mom and Dad who were sleeping in the basement to alert them and then quickly called 911. Her actions saved this family! By the time the FD arrived the house was a total loss.
The next few months are going to be a challenge rebuilding a life for an active family of 6. However, they are just grateful to be alive (and we are blessed they are still here)!!!
This family would do anything for anyone in the community. They are active in the WBL hockey association and dance community. It’s our turn to give back and help them rebuild. A little bit goes a long way when you’ve lost everything.
