Family and friends of Speedy, as many of you know by now, about 5 months ago he was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. After initially going through several chemo treatments, those are now on hold due to his recent stroke and situation. The hope is to get him back to a point where he can start the chemo and physical therapy again, the sooner the better!
(December 2019): He was also having issues with blood clots due to an irregular heartbeat, which eventually caused him to have a stroke that affected 4 different parts of his brain. He was in the hospital for a month after the stroke where he was recovering, heart rhythm corrected, eventually released after 2 weeks of physical therapy to continue treatments and therapy at home and continue chemo.
(January 2020) : After a short stay at home, he was recently re-admitted to the hospital for swelling in his left leg. It was discovered he had a lot more blood clots in his left leg, some in his right, high risk for a heart attack and a heart rhythm that wasn't regular anymore. He also had more fluid in his lungs that needed to be drained. The blood clots need to be cleared before he can have surgery on his heart to correct the rhythm.
He has not been able to work since all of this started. Our mom has not been able to work through this either... so without my dads extra income, they are struggling financially at the moment. We are asking for any financial help that anyone can provide. It's ok if you can't, but if you can, even just a dollar would help! We would all be eternally grateful for any help you can provide them through this difficult time.
Thank you to everyone and we love you all!
Keep him in your thoughts and prayers.
