My name is Ian Dahms, I am fundraising on behalf of my wife Kat. Unfortunately she suffered a major stroke at 37yrs old back in September 2024. She now has a condition known as Aphasia which makes it very difficult for her to communicate like she used to. After several difficult months with treatments and speech therapy her mobility has nearly returned but her speech is still suffering.

There is an intense independent Speech and Language Therapy (SLT) service specialising in neuro-rehabilitation which lasts 4.5 weeks. This will greatly help her regain more of her speech but costs £15,000. We have two young children who struggle to comprehend what has happened, so anything to help Kat regain her speech would be amazing.

Kat was a young fit healthy woman, who was a yoga teacher. She was full of joy laugher and loved bringing people together. She's still there but just not able to communicate the way she did, which makes it all that much tougher.
