Specialist surgery that could be life changing

Hi, I’m Claudia - a mum, wife, freelance translator, content creator and advocate for women’s health. I’m reaching out with something deeply personal and incredibly difficult to ask: I need your help to fund life-changing surgery abroad for my endometriosis and adenomyosis.

Endometriosis has taken a huge toll on my life. I’ve battled it for years, often silently, through chronic pain, fatigue, vomiting, countless GP appointments, and waiting lists. I’ve done everything I can naturally and medically to manage it: strict diets, hormone treatments, painkillers, pelvic pain courses, acupuncture - you name it. For years now, 85% of my income has gone towards trying to manage this illness and although I have experienced times of some relief, it’s never long-lasting. And now for the last few months, it’s been getting increasingly worst. I ended up as in patient in hospital twice in the last two weeks unable to work or look after my children.

I’ve lived with daily pain for many years but at the moment it’s so severe that I’m on oral morphine and struggling to get out of bed. It’s affecting my ability to care for my children, work consistently, and just live a full life. I’m only 32.

Here in the UK, waiting times for specialist care are long, and access to skilled surgeons who can fully excise the disease is extremely limited. I am on the waiting list for another laparoscopy but the time of wait is not my only concern. Unfortunately there are very few skilled surgeons that can perform the operation that I need to bring me real relief so after much research and recommendations, I’ve found a team of world-renowned endometriosis specialists in Romania. They offer comprehensive care, including advanced imaging, nerve involvement assessments and treatments, and deep excision surgery — all of which I need.

This surgery could give me a real chance at a pain-free life. But it comes at a cost and unfortunately, it’s not covered by the NHS or any insurance.

That’s why I’m humbly asking for your help. I haven’t been able to work consistently and since I’m self employed, I haven’t been able to earn. I will also be selling anything I can on my Vinted [email redacted]closet to help me save money towards it too.
