The Skyla Project was set up by Watch Manager Nic Brennan of Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service, in response to a gap in training and equipment for use in the rescue of household pets involved in emergencies.
Our mission is to provide every fire station within Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service UK with the specialised equipment and training needed for firefighters to safely and effectively rescue small animals in emergency situations, ensuring the protection of both human and animal lives. We also aim to provide support to other Fire and Rescue Services throughout U.K. to be able to introduce small animal rescue training and equipment to all firefighters and fire stations nationwide.
Our aim is to protect vulnerable animals in crisis, support the wellbeing of our communities, and enhance the lifesaving work of the U.K. Fire and Rescue Services.
