Special Needs Sensory Boxes for our Children

The Inspiration
Black and Brown children with special needs are overlooked twice -  first because of their race and second because of their disability. Moms United For Black Lives New York City is leading an effort to provide free sensory boxes to the Black and Brown children with special needs in our community.  As parents of unique, awesome, and neurodiverse children, we know that children and families need support at home, especially now.

Do you know a child who would benefit from a sensory box? Complete this form and we will be in touch!

The Numbers
*200,000 NYC public school kids have been identified as special needs.
*72% of NYC public school kids qualify for free or reduced lunch (live in poverty).

To provide a sensory box to each and every child who has been identified as a special needs child and lives in poverty, we would need 8 million dollars. It is a lot, but we are in this for the long haul and believe our communities will rise to the occasion and help us meet the needs of our beloved NYC children.

The Plan
*We will fundraise continually.
*We will schedule regular events for the distribution of the kids' sensory boxes.
*We will update you after each distribution event.

The children of NYC thank you for your generosity.
