My name is Jakeb Stanley, and I teach Special Day Class (SDC) History and Science at Dozier-Libbey Medical High School. I work with high school students who have diverse learning needs, and my goal is to create a classroom where they feel safe, supported, and engaged every day.
Setting up and maintaining a special education classroom can get expensive quickly. I’m raising $1,000 to help cover both the initial setup items on my wishlist and the supplies I’ll need throughout the year.
Some of the specific things I’m hoping to fund include:
-Storage and organizational tools to keep materials accessible and the classroom running smoothly
-Sensory tools to help students stay focused and comfortable
-Visual décor and educational posters to create an inviting environment
-Interactive materials like puzzles and games for brain breaks and hands-on learning
-Tech accessories for more effective lessons
I also go through basic supplies quickly, like paper, pencils, markers, dry-erase boards, and cleaning materials.
Every donation helps me give my students a learning space where they can thrive. Even if you’re unable to contribute financially, sharing this fundraiser would mean a lot.
Thank you so much for your support in helping me build a classroom that makes a difference for my students.
