My name is Suz Romero, I am a third year special education teacher in Hesperia, California.  I have four awesome instructional assistants.  Our students' cognitive disabilities range from mild to severe.  We are a low income school in a below average income area.  Most of these kids have not and most likely will not in their childhood, have the opportunity to visit Disneyland.  So, we are asking for donations to take our students to Disneyland!  Your generosity will help pay for transportation, the entrance fee, and a meal for 15 students and 5 staff members.  Any monies left over will be used to pay for a parent or two to help supervise students that require one-on-one attention.  Going to Disneyland is every child's dream and my kids are no exception!  The day of the visit will be all about experiencing the magic of the park as well as practicing patience and controlling anxiety. The days that follow we will recall the people that helped us getting on and off the rides, the cashiers that let us practice counting our money, and the people who served us lunch.  I imagine telling the kids where we are going, showing them videos, and answering a million questions.  I imagine the uncontrollable excitement walking through the gates and a day of fun adventerous choas.  My staff and I will cherish the hugs and words of love, and your overwhelming generosity will never be forgotten.
