Three weeks ago my Mom had a stroke and was rushed in an ambulance to the hospital.   Her left side is paralyzed, and she is fighting and working through physio to get some of her movement back.    We are unsure when she will be released, and due to covid my Dad has not been able to visit her.  My families hearts break having to sit back while she suffers through this fight alone.

Prior to her leaving the hospital, there are many house adjustments that need be made around their home.  The costs of these adjustments are crippling to a retired couple on a fixed income.   My siblings and I are willing to help how we can, but it won’t be enough.      

On the smaller scale they need a bathroom renovation, with a sit down tub/shower and assistance hardware for using the facilities.    Big scale they need a chair lift installed for the stairway in their bi level home.  Upon research these chair lifts can run anywhere from $7000-$14000!!!
Not to mention any other adaptive aids she may require.

On top of all the stress my parents are going through right now, We don’t want them to be stressing about finances. Their focus should be on healing and moving forward.    My parents aren’t the type to ask for money or aid, but everyone needs help sometimes.   They have both worked long and hard to be where they are today.
